Cottontail Rabbit Rescue
By Lilliana Murdy
Rabbits are utterly adorable, but can you believe some people mistreat them? At Cottontail Rabbit Rescue, a shelter for rabbits is a place where rabbits can live in paradise as they look for new homes. It's a rabbit's dream come true! If you looking for a rabbit friend, Cottontail Rabbit Rescue also posts photos of rabbits you can adopt on their site, see link below. Sometimes they even have cute baby rabbits for adoption, you can also baby sit and foster, or in this case "rabbit sit". One rabbit alone or a bonded pair of rabbits is only $10 dollars. Multiple rabbits in separate cages can cost up to $15 dollars. Their site also has lots of information on what to feed a pet rabbit and how to litter box train them! They also have many neat success stories for you to read.

Guinea Pigs: The Critter Connection Interview with
Cindy Kuester (Story continued from previous edition)
By Emillie Adams
Critter Connection is an agency that cares for Guinea Pigs that have been abused or are no longer wanted. In this interview Cindy Kuester, discusses her role at Critter Connection.
Q: How much does it cost to care for all the Guinea Pigs (piggies) cost each month (vet included)?
A: For 30 pigs (which we have right now), it takes $800 a month.
Q: How much do one or two cost?
A: Providing neither have a major illness the cost is approximately $1,200.
Q: Do you accept donations?
A: Yes, we do accept donations.
Q: How many get adopted weekly and how many are available for adoption?
A: The adopted number varies; sometimes we go weeks without any adoptions. It also depends on how many adoptable piggies we have. Right now we have 16 adoptable pigs.
Q: What do you do to take care of them correctly?
A: We clean the cages two to three times a week; feed them hay, pellets, and veggies twice a day; change their water every day; check them frequently to make sure they are healthy. For pigs that are sick, we tend to them several times a day.
Q: How many come from abuse-neglect situations versus families that just can't keep them anymore?
A: Most of the pigs we receive come from abuse situations. We just received 12 from a hoarding situation in New York.
